~Pineapples Make The Perfect Gift~

Did you know the Pineapple is a sign of hospitality and welcome?
The following is an excerpt from Hoag Levins. To visit Hoag's website and learn more about the Pineapple click here!

"Across the ocean, the pineapple took on other symbolic meanings in England's American colonies. The colonies were then a land of small, primitive towns and settlements where homes served as the hubs of most community activity. Visiting was the primary means of entertainment, cultural intercourse and news dissemination. The concept of hospitality--the warmth, charm and style with which guests were taken into the home--was a central element of the society's daily emotional life."
With that being said wouldn't you agree that anything pineapple would make the perfect gift? Check out these pineapple items for sale by etsy artists.

~What do you do for Labor Day?~

My plans for this weekend consist of rest and relaxation, well...after the house gets cleaned.

I plan on making some new greeting cards this weekend too. The holidays are fast approaching and I need to start mass producing Christmas cards! It's so hard to believe that August is almost officially over and that means the end of summer. If the weather gets better I would love to go do some things outdoors. Pretty soon it will be windy, rainy, and cloudy here in Washington. Why not get the most out of the sunshine? Enjoy the long weekend everyone! Don't forget my blog contest ends September 3rd.

Back From Vacation!

I have returned from vacation and getting back into the swing of things. Our family rented a house with a pool just outside of Manson, Washington. The weather was 80 degrees plus every day and it only rained a little drizzle one day but it was still a hot one! Besides relaxing and swimming at the pool we went bowling at Chelan Lanes, played some mini golf, won some money at the Mill Bay Casino, AKA "cashino", visited Blueberry Hills, and played for a day at Slide Waters the waterpark in Chelan. After a week in the Chelan area we headed over to the Grand Coulee Dam and spent some time at Lake Roosevelt. The Dam was spectacular and the 30 minute light show was a great entertaining way to learn about the Columbia River and how the Grand Coulee Dam was created by President Roosevelt.
